Happy Birthday Lile

Some people you never forget.

I’ve known Lile since the mid-80s when we worked together at a gift shop in Germany.  Lile was the manager & I worked evenings & weekends as a side job to my day job.  Besides customer service, our work sometimes involved opening up inventory, dusting, or cleaning to keep the shop in order.

Regardless of the day’s task, Lile always wore a beautiful outfit,  had a warm smile, & she made every customer feel welcome & special.  It didn’t matter if you were just “looking”; she made you feel like you were the most important person in the store.

During our shop time, I learned a lot from Lile.    I learned to get out the good stuff because each day is always one to celebrate.  I learned grace, character, charm & never to give up or give in.

It’s been over 30 years & I still talk about Lile & the impression she made on me in the little shop in Germany.  I strive to be like her.  I look for the good, accentuate the positive & put class into everything I do.  Her daughter described her as fierce & elegant & that she truly is.  I wish all women could have a Lile in their life.

Happy birthday sweet friend.
