Home Sweet Home

I love my home, and there’s no place I’d rather be. I have a euphoric experience when I get home at the end of the day and close the door behind me.   My home is my sanctuary, where I can disconnect from the workday and the rest of the world—where I experience peace.

During my almost 73 years, I have traveled to many places, either for pleasure or as a result of my work, and when I was younger, I relished every opportunity to go someplace different. It didn’t matter if I flew, drove, or took the bus or train; it was exciting to be on the go. Now, I only travel when necessary and prefer to drive to escape the chaos that commercial travel brings.

I enjoy my weekends and the opportunity to ease into my day by having my first cup of coffee and thinking about the household tasks I’d like to accomplish or whether I’d like to escape into my craft world. I value the simple aspects of my day, like sitting in a chair reading with my sleeping cat on my lap. Sometimes I  “cat nap” with her.

I’ve mentioned that I live in two places, but each home makes me feel the same way. My home, whether in Dahlonega, GA, or Jacksonville, FL, is where I feel my best. It’s where I can be with my spouse, welcome my family and friends, and know that I am in a safe, loving, and blessed environment.

I hope everyone has a Home Sweet Home.
