Thrifting

Lace Skirt

Yesterday was a gloomy, rainy,  overcast day, making it perfect for going to my favorite thrifting store, Southern Crossing on Park Street.  Everyone else had the same idea because the store was a little crowded.  The aisles don’t have much room, but thrifters are a congenial & pleasant crowd.

I found several things, one of which is this beautiful skirt.  I love the detail & lace.  It’s heavy cotton with a lining & sturdily made.  It will go nicely with several other pieces that I already have.

I also found these adorable heart earrings – perfect for Valentine’s week.

The last item is this beaded piece.  I’m not sure just yet what I plan to do with it, but I’m thinking maybe on a jacket or in a frame.  When I figure it out, I’ll share it here.  But it spoke to me & said take me with you, so I did.

These were the treasures I took home today.  There were others I considered.  One was a large piece of art that would make a great overpainting, but I don’t think I could have gotten it in the car.  I studied the detail of it for quite some time & it would make a great art project.  If it’s there when I go back, then it was for me.  I’ll be out of town the next two weekends, but there’s always a thrift store somewhere.

I hope you had a great Saturday!
