Pancake Update #2

Funny Cats

It’s been ten days since our second doctor’s visit.  Pancake gets prednisone every day.  She doesn’t like it, but I’ll forgo her dislike if it helps her.   She still displays some of her habits, like waking me up at night for her snack.  I love it when she comes up to me while I’m asleep and lightly touches my face because that indicates that she’s still eating and wanting food.

We still have couch time, but she’s beginning to want her solitude which could come from not feeling her best.  I also enjoy solitude and couch time, so Pancake and I are becoming “little old ladies” together.

A work friend shared this book with me, “What Cats Teach Us.”

Cat on Shoe

One of my favorite chapters is titled “About Everyday Living”:

  • Avoid fights.
It’s important to know your way home.
A laptop cat is more soothing than a laptop computer.
Find a special spot and spend a lot of time there.
If you can’t lie on a piece of furniture, what’s the point of having it?
    Support humane causes.
It’s hard to get in trouble when you’re asleep.
    Accept no imitations!
We can’t always get what we want.
Most of the time, our problems are self-created.
We all need to spend some time alone.
    Be quick to seize opportunity.
Hiding under the covers won’t make your problems disappear.
Give in and accept help in an impossible situation.
Don’t be afraid of the world; it’s not as big as it seems.
Listen to your parents, and you won’t get into so much trouble.
Every day has its challenges…and its joys.
Bask in the beauty of the world around you.

Pancake’s advice is to take some time to bask in the beauty of the world around you and live and love each day.

Pancake.
