Rotating Tree Stand

I’ve been wanting a rotating tree stand for several years.  I’ve seen them on some of the craft blogs I follow.  I thought it would be wonderful to see the ornaments on the back side as the tree slowly rotated because the backside always gets very little attention.

I finally ordered a Rotating Tree Stand from Amazon, and in 2 days, it arrived.  I was so excited to start the holiday decorating, which meant putting the tree up and sitting back to watch as it slowly rotated around.  I would be able to see each ornament, like looking into a fish tank as the fish move around, hide, and then come back into sight.

We removed the tree from the garage and hauled it up the stairs.  We left the old tree stand behind.  We didn’t need it because the tree would be going into the new rotating stand.

We opened the box, and the first thing we found was a piece of plastic holding one of the supporting legs in place was broken—disappointment number one.  We used E6000 glue, which is supposed to hold anything, and repaired the leg.  After we gave it time to dry, we were ready to set the tree in.  So far, it’s looking good.  I turned on the switch, and the tree began its rotation.  Hot dog, I’m loving it.  As it rotates, the tree starts to lean on the repaired leg – disappointment number two; we knew it would not work.

We packaged the parts back into the box.  I filled out the return information on Amazon, and we took it to the UPS store to begin its return journey to wherever broken rotating tree stands end up.

The tree is up in the old reliable stand.  Thank you, China, for busting my fantasy bubble this holiday season of being the proud owner of a Rotating Christmas Tree Stand. Maybe next year I’ll try again.
