Van Gogh – The Immersive Experience

I enjoy all things art-related, but if you don’t, you may think the $40 entrance fee was a bit too much not to see an actual painting. However, you are surrounded by a continuum of paintings on the walls, floor, and ceiling. It’s like watching fireworks and feeling that each burst was better than the last.

Van Gogh was a fascinating artist, and like most artists, his works were not popularized until after his death. Although his most recognizable paintings are “Starry Night” and Fourteen Sunflowers,” he painted thousands of pictures. He was considered delusional and experienced several breakdowns before taking his own life at age 37.

Today, we would likely place someone like him in a care facility and would never be able to experience their talent because the talent was likely driven by the mental anguish he suffered. For me, his life story adds to the fascination of his works, and that alone made The Immersive Experience worth seeing.
