Weekend Project

I’ve seen these light fixtures used for yard & garden projects on Pinterest & on some of the craft blogs I follow. So what a surprise to find this fixture on the curb which provided me with the inspiration to try & duplicate an outdoor solar light feature for the porch!
Step one was a little cleaning & some black paint. I used an inexpensive brand from Lowe’s & gave it a once over. Once painted, I went to Dollar Tree and bought 9 solar lights. The lights were the most expensive as this fixture had 9 arms & of course, Dollar Tree is now $1.25 Tree. I liked the ones that had a butterfly inside. The stake part of the light comes off very easily and I just used my glue gun to “set” the light into the socket.
It makes a nice porch glow when it gets dark. This would be a fun idea for an outdoor flower area hanging from a tree or patio. I’ve also seen these with flower pots glued to the arms with plants growing. I may try that if I find another fixture but in my hot climate, I would have to remember to keep the plants watered…
Happy crafting!
